Singapore Super series: PV Sindhu to spearhead Indian contingent

In the Singapore Open Superseries Badminton tournament, PV Sindhu will be spearheading the Indian contingent. In the women's singles event, Sindhu, who recently attained world number 2 ranking, will take on Nozoumi Okuhara from Japan in the first round today. Another shuttler Rituparna Das will meet Hsu Ya Ching of Chinese Taipei in the first round. In the men's singles event, in total, 5 Indians are in the fray. In the first round, Ajay Jayaram will meet 5th seeded Shi Yuqi, Sameer verma will take on Hu Yun, whereas K Srikanth will see a qualifier Kenta Nishimoto and Indian qualifier Sourabh verma will lock horns with an unseeded Anthony Sinisuka. In the men's doubles, two Indian pair will be seen in the first round action today. Besides duo of Mannu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy qualifiers Arjun MR and Ramchandran Shlok are also in the hunt.In the women's doubles event, 3 Indian pair will be playing their first round match today while in the mixed doubles, qualifiers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Maneesha K will bee seen in the first round whereas duo of Ashwini Ponappa and Summeth Reddy have reached the 2nd round.
