Prime Minister of Singapore Mr. Lee Hsien Loong is arriving in New Delhi tonight on a two day State Visit to India. Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, is leading a high level delegation . Mr. Lee Hsien Loong is visiting India at the invitation of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The visiting dignitary will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecouts of Rashtrapati Bhavan tommorow morning. Mr. Lee Hsien Loong will also hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tommorow. Both the leaders are expected to deliberate on ways to intensify trade and investment and closer collaboration in the context of the global financial crisis. India and Singapore are also to ink agreements during Mr. Lee Hsien Loon's visit. During his stay in New Delhi, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will also call on President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and other dignitaries.
Our correspondent reports, India-Singapore bilateral relations are broad-based and multifaceted. Singapore is India’s largest trading partner among the ASEAN countries and the second largest source of FDI inflows into India. The visit of the Singapore Prime Minister coming shortly after the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Singapore in November last year enables a strong momentum to be maintained in bilateral relations.
