Two-time defending champion P V Sindhu has reached the semi-finals at the 120,000 US Dollar Macau Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament. In the quarter-final at Macau today, the World No. 12 surpassed China's Chen Yufei in three games 21-13 18-21 21-14 in a match that lasted 54 minutes. Sindhu will next square off against the winner of the match between Japan's Sayaka Sato and Japan's Akane Yamaguchi.Sindhu is now the lone Indian survivor in the tournament, after men's singles players B Sai Praneeth and H S Prannoy bowed out. 15th seed Praneeth lost to Goh Soon Huat of Malaysia 16-21, 23-21, 13-21, while seventh seed Prannoy lost against Indonesia's Ihsan Maulana Mustofa 21-18, 19-21, 11-21.
