In Badminton, PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth and B. Sai Praneeth today advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the Australian Open Superseries tournament in Sydney. In Women's Singles, fifth seed Sindhu came back from a game behind to beat Sayaka Sato of Japan, 21-17, 14-21, 21-18, while Saina beat higher placed Ji Hyun Sung of South Korea, 21-10, 21-16. Saina is yet to win a title this season, while Sindhu has bagged two trophies.In Men's Singles, while Praneeth defeated Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia, 10-21, 21-12, 21-10, Srikanth beat Chao Yu Kan of Chinese Taipei, 21-13, 21-16. Srikanth had clinched the Indonesia Open last week, while Sai Praneeth has claimed two titles this year – Thailand Open and Singapore Open.However, P Kashyap, HS Prannoy and Ajay Jayaram were among the Indian shuttlers who bowed out in the first round.
