Top seed, Simona Halep has won the WTA championship in Dubai. She defeated Karolina Pliskova in the final last night. Halep failed to convert match points in the 10th and 12th games, but eventually closed out a 6-4, 7-6 victory to secure the 10th trophy of her career. She beat former World Number One Caroline Wozniacki and Ekaterina Makarova on her way to the finals.
