World number three Simona Halep of Romania has crashed out of the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the season, in Paris. In the second round fixture last night, the last year's runners up lost to the unseeded Croatian Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1. This was the second time in three Grand Slams that Mirjana has defeated Halep. She had stunned the Romanian in the US Open last year.In yesterday's other results, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Kei Nishikori, Tomas Berdych, Stanislas Wawrinka and Ana Ivanovic advanced to the third round.In the Doubles, Sania Mirza, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna, with their teammates, recorded easy victories in the first round. Mahesh Bhupathi had made an exit on Tuesday.
