In Boxing, Indian pugilist Vikas Krishan settled for a silver medal at the Invitational Olympic test event in London, after withdrawing from the finals of the 69 kilogram welterweight category due to a wrist injury. The Asian Games gold-medallist, who was experiencing discomfort in his left wrist after the semifinal bout, decided to forfeit the summit clash against Qiong Maimaitituersun of China. Vikas, who is among the four Indian pugilists to have qualified for the Olympics next year, had advanced to the last round after beating Azerbaijan's Ismet Eynullayev 9-6 in the round of four.Earlier in the tournament, another Indian pugilist Dinesh Kumar had to settle for a bronze medal as he lost his semifinal bout against Yamaguchi Florentino of Brazil in the Men's 81 kilogram category.In the women's event, five-time world champion MC Mary Kom made an early exit after losing to Argentine Pamela Paoloa Benavidez in the quarterfinals of the 51 kilogram section.
