Silda incident no t to affect Joint operations against Maoists says Bengal CM

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has said that the recent attack on a security camp in West Midnapore district will not affect the ongoing joint operations against the Maoists. He said that the offesnsive against the ultras will continue and the government will be able to overcome the situation. Briefing reporters in Kolkata, he announced a committee to probe the incident that killed 24 security jawans at Silda. Referring to the visit of the Home Ministry team to the incident site, Mr. Bhattacharya said, his government will work with the Centre to contain the menace. He said that the destroyed camp will be relocated soon and a site has been identified for the purpose. Meanwhile, exchange of fire between maoists and Joint forces is now on at Lalgarh in West Midnapore district. The incident comes two days after Maoists killed 24 Eastern Frontier Rifle jawans at Silda in the same district. Our correspondent reports that security personnel were on a routine patrol, when they were engaged by the ultras in Bhulagaya village.<br/>
