AICC General Secretary Mr. Rahul Gandhi has assured that Sikkim will get all assistance from the Centre to cope up with the Sunday's Earthquake. He was talking to newspersons at the Army helipad at Libing in Gangok before leaving for Shillong after a short visit to the State this morning.The Sikkim Chief Minister Mr. Pawan Chamling announced that the State Government will complete the ongoing assessment of the losses and damages within ten days. Addressing a press conference at Samman Bhavan in Gangtok on Wednesday, he said the report will be submitted to the Centre, demanding adequate relief package for Sikkim. Mr. Chamling asserted that all places in the State barring the area beyond Mangan in North district can be reached by the visiting tourists. He assured that the State will be able to welcome the tourists again within the next 10-15 days. Meanwhile, the death toll in Sikkim has now risen to 71 . The worst affected North district alone accounts for 53 deaths.Relief and restoration work is in full swing in the state. Power supply in the state has been partially restored and road connectivity is also being restored gradually. The roads from Gangtok to Mangan have been opened.Home Minister P Chidambaram will visit quake-hit Sikkim tomorrow to take stock of the ongoing relief and rescue work. Our correspondent reports, over 3,000 people were rescued in quake-hit areas of Sikkim by defence forces who worked hard to clear the debris of the collapsed structures and landslides. Over hundred people had died and three hundred persons were injured in the Sunday's earthquake. ‘
