Sikkim: Two-day Session of Legislative Assembly begins today

In Sikkim, a two-day Session of the Legislative Assembly began today. The Session began with the Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Arun Kumar Upreti, and Members of the House expressing their prayers and condolences to the victims of the recent natural disaster in the State.<br />''<br />''Chief Minister, also the Leader of the House, Prem Singh Tamang, in his condolence message, stated that the magnitude of the destruction is huge. However, the State Government is making all possible efforts to help the victims recover from the disaster and restore normalcy in the State, he added. The Chief Minister extended his deepest gratitude to all government officials, central forces, organizations, associations and individuals who came forward to help the State in the hour of crisis. <br />''<br />''The Chief Minister also expressed his indebtedness to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Central authorities and other States who extended their help and relief to Sikkim during the calamity. The Chief Minister also presented a brief of the measures that are being adopted by the State administration to help the victims get back towards the path of recovery and re-establishing their lives after the massive setback.<br />''<br />''During the Legislative Business, a total of six Bills were introduced in the House. These included, the Sikkim Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill 2023, the Guru Padmasambhava University Bill 2023, the Aerial Ropeways Bill 2023, the Sikkim Sardar Patel University Bill, 2023, the National Council for Skill Education, Sikkim Bill 2023 and the EDTECH Skills University, Sikkim Bill 2023.<br />''<br />''The discussion and voting on the Bills will take place tomorrow.<br />
