Sikkim has decided to reopen educational institutions in the first week of August 2020. The decision was taken following a meeting of the State Task Force chaired by Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang today.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Earlier, educational institutions in Sikkim were scheduled to open on 1st July, 2020. The deferral is due to the recent rise in cases of COVID19 in the state, which currently has 24 active cases. Reopening of educational institutions including all schools, colleges, universities, Teacher Education Institutes and private educational establishments would be in compliance with UGC and central government directives.<br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, examinations on some subjects of the CBSE are scheduled in July 2020. These examinations will be conducted in all Senior Secondary Schools in Sikkim. The CBSE has declared all Senior Secondary Schools as examination centres in order to maintain social distancing and decongesting centers.</span><br />
