Sikkim reports third COVID-19 case

<span style="color: #222222;">Sikkim reported its third COVID-19 case yesterday evening. Director General of the state health department, Dr Pempa T Bhutia confirmed this in a health bulletin. The person is currently asymptomatic and is admitted in the COVID-19 isolation ward of New STMN hospital in Sochagyang near Gangtok.<br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports, a health department official informed that the infected person returned from Maharashtra on a Shramik train arranged by the Maharashtra government for northeastern states. He was awaiting COVID-19 test results while boarding the train on 1st May. He was informed about the positive result today while on his way to Sikkim from New Jalpaiguri station in West Bengal, which he self-disclosed to the authorities.<br />''<br />''The person was transferred to an ambulance at the Rangpo checkpost and brought to the STNM hospital near Gangtok. Although he did not have any contact with Sikkimese people in the train, he shared the bus from New Jalpaiguri station with 12 Sikkimese people. All these contacts have been quarantined separately in South Sikkim. Sikkim had reported its first two cases on 23rd May and yesterday.</span><br />
