<span style="color: #222222;">On Thursday, Sikkim recorded its biggest ever single day spike in COVID-19 cases with 170 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. This comes a day after the state had reported a record 151 cases. Sikkim has now recorded 710 cases since 24th April, with 1512 cases this month.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, the fresh 170 cases took Sikkim's active COVID-19 cases to 1247, with 118 people admitted across hospitals. Twenty two new recoveries and three fatalities were also reported, taking Sikkim's COVID-19 death tally to 146.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Among the new cases, East Sikkim district recorded 124 cases, South Sikkim recorded 34 cases, West Sikkim reported nine cases and three cases were reported from North Sikkim.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In view of the surge in COVID-19 cases, Sikkim has notified extended closure of all state government offices except those engaged in essential services till 7th May.</span><br />''  <br />
