In Sikkim, a six day long special Buddhist Puja ceremony for bringing solace to the souls of those killed in the September 18 earthquake concluded at the worst affected North district headquarter, Mangan, today. Local deities, including the guardian deity Mount Kanchenjungha, were invoked during the puja.AIR correspondent reports that some one hundred thirty monks, both male and female, from the nearby monasteries conducted the ceremony. On the other hand, relief and rehabilitation works for the earthquake victims continue unabated even during the Dussehra vacations in the State.
