Sikkim organizes programme on Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav

<span style="color: #222222;">Sikkim government today organized a programme on Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav in Gangtok to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's independence along with the rest of the nation. Advisor to the culture department Bhim Kumari Sharma was the chief guest and chairman of Cultural Heritage and Communal Harmony Board was the guest of honour.<br />''<br />''Mrs Sharma said that such programmes remind us of the sacrifices of our forefathers for the country's independence. She apprised students about the objective of Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi March. She urged students to learn the history of the country and sacrifices of freedom fighters.<br />'' <br />''Various artists performed cultural programmes and patriotic songs including a skit on Dandi March-Namak Satyagraha on the occasion. The archives section of the state culture department is exhibiting important documents and photos related to the Dandi March at the venue.<br />'' <br />''Separately, the state IPR department organized a photo exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav to commemorate the 75th Year of India's Independence at Titanic Park on Gangtok's iconic MG Marg in collaboration with Regional Outreach Bureau Siliguri and PIB.</span><br />''
