In Sikkim, the restoration work of roads in landslides affected northern part is in full swing. The Chungthang Lachen road which connects remote villages of north Sikkim is expected to be temporarily resumed in two to three days. The BRO personnel working round the clock on this route said its maximum man power and machines are deployed in this stretch as its accessibility is important to reach more people living in remote villages and affected by series of landslides in last few days. Meanwhile ,the air dropping of relief materials in these most affected areas by army and state government helicopters is continue even five days after the flash flood landslides incident recently which killed 20 persons including BRO and ITBP personnel.Eleven families affected due to flash floods and landslides in north Sikkim have been shifted to relief camp established at Pakship and Kazur village about 4 kilometre off from the district headquarter Mangan . There are also reports on damages of cardamom field along Lachung river side. The concerned district officials are now busy in filed visit assessing the damages of this important cash crop cultivated immensely in northern part of Sikkim.
