Following the designation of STNM hospital near Gangtok as the main medical facility for COVID-19 in Sikkim, the state government has notified 10 teams of doctors and paramedics to deal with any situation at the hospital. <br />'' <br />'' Medical superintendent of STNM, Dr. Passang Phempo told AIR News that the hospital is fully equipped and levels 8 and 9 of the hospital have been converted into a COVID-19 facility.<br />'' <br />'' Spokesperson of the hospital Dr. Y Bhutia said that the hospital currently has 200 beds for COVID-19 cases, and has the required manpower including quarantine facilities for medical officers and paramedics.<br />'' <br />'' She informed that paramedic trainers are training nursing and other staff on a daily basis in phases while doctors have been already trained as per directives of the union health ministry. Sikkim has not reported any case of the infection so far.<br />''  <br />
