Sikkim gears up to for nation-wide launch of COVID-19 vaccination programme tomorrow

<span style="color: #222222;">Sikkim is set to take up the nation-wide launch of COVID-19 vaccination programme tomorrow. The drive will be launched from STNM hospital, Gangtok in East Sikkim and District hospital, Gyalsingh in West Sikkim. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, Sikkim has received 12,500 doses of Covishield vaccine for health care workers. A total of 12,120 doses have been allocated to Central and State Health Care workers, and Armed Forces Medical Services. So far, 220 vaccinators have been trained for the programme.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Director General-cum-Secretary of State Health Department Dr Pempa Tshering Bhutia spoke about preparations for the vaccination exercise.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />''Sikkim Health Minister Dr M.K. Sharma has urged people to participate in the vaccination programme, calling the occasion historic. He has allayed concerns related to vaccination and affirmed that the vaccines have passed stringent scientific protocols for safety and effectiveness. </span><br />''
