Sikkim's education department has partnered with All India Radio to impart online lessons to school students during the lockdown period. The sessions, of one hour each during 1pm to 2pm, will be imparted on a daily basis beginning 16th April, though AIR's Gangtok station. <br />''  <br />'' State director of primary education Bhim Thatal spoke to AIR News on the sessions and importance of radio as a medium for the initiative. The live educational sessions will be targeted at elementary, secondary and senior secondary standards with the exception of language classes.<br />''  <br />'' There will be provision for students to ask questions through phone-in facility after every specific content session. The education department intends to continue the sessions through AIR beyond the lockdown period as educational institutions may open in a staggered manner after the lockdown.<br />''  <br />
