<span style="color: #222222;">Sikkim education department is planning to bring back students from the state stranded outside Sikkim as well as those studying in educational institutions in the state.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking to AIR, additional chief secretary of state education department GP Upadhaya informed that 1800 students from Sikkim stranded outside the state would be brought back to Sikkim in different groups and would undergo COVID19 tests with rapid testing kits. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Following this and depending on results, students would be sent to facility quarantine or home quarantine of 14 days. The department is preparing various hostels and hotels for quarantine. While the facility quarantine at hostels would be free of cost, cost of availing quarantine facility at hotels would be payable by parents.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Upadhaya also informed that students studying in Sikkim can enter the state after 31st May, subject to opening of educational institutions which are closed till that day as of now. These students would also undergo rapid tests followed by quarantine. He said that return of students would largely depend on operationalisation of public transport facilities across the country.</span><br />''
