Sikkim CM formally launches Mission Poverty Free Sikkim-2013

In Sikkim, the Chief Minister Mr.Pawan Chamling formally launched the Mission Poverty Free Sikkim-2013 in Gangtok today. It aims at making Sikkim the first poverty Free State of the country in the next three years. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister Mr.Chamling asserted that there is no dearth of employment opportunities in the State since lots of people from outside Sikkim earn their livelihood by working in the State. Calling for preparing a capable and employable manpower out of the local youths, he told that his Government has initiated a number of pro-active steps in this regard. AIR Gangtok correspondent reports that the ambitious programme aims at making Sikkim the first poverty free State of the country in the next three years by following a multi – pronged strategy of providing universal access to essential infrastructure and services , improving the earnings ,facilitating empowerment of the common masses and laying more emphasis on equitable and inclusive growth.
