Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today chaired a meeting in Gangtok to finalize the course of action on the COVID-19 situation. Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly, State Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and civic body and administrative officials were present, among others.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Tamang attributed the mitigation of COVID-19 situation in the country to timely and effective decisions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the State Government responded early and took bold precautionary measures to prevent the infection. He called for coordination among all stakeholders to facilitate the return of people stranded outside Sikkim. He informed that officers have been designated in Siliguri, West Bengal to facilitate the process of travel in phases and urged people to download the Aarogya Setu app. He shared details of utilisation of funds totalling nine crore sixty four lakh rupees received from the Centre to fight COVID-19. Mr Tamang also shared details of expenditure under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.<br />'' <br />''Mr Tamang highlighted the role of IT in dealing with the lockdown. The Chief Minister also announced a financial incentive of five thousand rupees each to all sanitation workers in recognition of their extraordinary services amidst the COVID-19 situation. He extended his gratitude to the Centre for constant support and encouragement during the crisis.<br />
