<span style="color: #222222;">Sikkim Chief Minister P S Tamang today chaired a meeting on the COVID-19 situation in Gangtok. Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly, State Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and senior administrative officials were present.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister's call for a self-reliant India offers opportunities for Sikkim to realize its true potential. He said that the youth should embrace skilled work and make the most of available opportunities, filling up the space created by the exodus of skilled workers to their respective states.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Suggesting some more relaxations to revive the economy gradually, Mr Tamang announced that restaurants and fast food outlets will be allowed to operate with reasonable restrictions, all shops would remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., inter-district movement of vehicles would be eased and offices would operate with 30 per cent manpower.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The Chief Minister informed that the government is working on a relief package for drivers and other affected people. He announced the constitution of the Economic Revival Committee to be chaired by Martam Rumtek MLA Sonam Tshering Venchungpa.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Mr Tamang said that the government will give top priority to health and education. He emphasized on the importance of IT, the need for people to adapt to digitalization and IT-enabled services, and IT's role in reforming the education sector.<br />''<br />''Speaking about reforms in the health sector, he suggested that a dialysis unit each should be set up in all sub-divisions. Mr Tamang informed that the state viral laboratory is nearing completion and an RTPCR test machine has been sent to the state. He reiterated that the State Government's commitment to evacuate all people of Sikkim willing to return to the state.</span>
