Sikkim is all set to be declared as a ‘Poultry State ‘. This will enable the State to get special financial assistance from the Centre for development of Poultry Industry and become not only self-reliant but an exporting State for the poultry products. This was stated by the Animal Husbandry Minister Mr D N Thakarpa while addressing a poultry farmers and other Stake -holders Meet at Ranipul near Gangtok . Earlier, Mr Thakarpa handed over the keys of two poultry vehicles to the Denzong Agricultural Cooperative Society as a part of State Govt’s endeavor to facilitate transportation and marketing of local poultry products.
