Coal loading in the Railways has crossed 274 million tonnes during April to October this year, registering a 10 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, minister of state for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said coal loading has gone up from 420 million tonnes in 2010-11 to 456 miliion tonnes in 2011-12. He said, there is no shortfall in coal loading by the Railways due to non-availability of sufficient rakes.
