<span style="color: #222222;">Government today said, there has been a significant reduction in number of complaints related to call drops and improper network coverage in the country. <br />''<br />''In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Electronics and Information Technology Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, the Telecommunication Department has received 22 complaints till 30th January of this year. <br />''<br />''He said, the Department received 4534 complaints in the 2017, 1678 in 2018 and 1162 in 2019. The Minister said, during 2018, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has imposed total financial disincentive for not meeting the parameters to the tune of three crore 29 lakh rupees, out of which over two crore rupees has been recovered. He said, upgradation of network, addition of cell sites, optimization of the network and introduction of new technologies are some of the steps that have been taken by the government to improve network coverage and quality of service.</span><br />
