Sibal lays foundation stone of National institute of Technology in Nagaland

Union Minister of HRD Kapil Sibal on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the National Institute of Technology Nagaland, at Chumukedima, Dimapur. Addressing the inaugural function, Sibal expressed the hope that the institute will herald a new beginning for the youth of Nagaland to empower themselves through quality education and bring prosperity through science and engineering. Sibal, who is visiting Nagaland for the second time, also hoped that the institute will now progress rapidly to create the requisite facilities and infrastructure required for world class engineering education in the state.The newly inaugurated institute. which is located in the hilly terrain of Chumukedima has 240 students, out of which 21 are Nagas. Rio expressed the hope that the institute will help more Naga students get better education.
