Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal today launched in New Delhi the South Asian Archive, a new online research and teaching resource developed by Routledge and the South Asia Research Foundation.

The Archive would facilitate digital access to an extensive collection of original research material which includes journals, rare books, film ephemera, census reports and other documentation.

Mr. Sibal said that the project is a unique initiative to preserve the vast cultural heritage of India and at the same time make it available to the customers all over the world.
