In Arunachal Pradesh, the water level in Siang and various other rivers in flood hit districts were showing receding trends but still flood water created havoc in many eastern districts of the state. Anjaw located in China-Butan-Myanmar trijunction, has been completely devastated by landslides and flood triggered by torrential rains and cut off from the rest of the world. Economic adviser to CM and lone MLA of the Anjaw district, Kalikho Pul informed that the five people have been reported dead in different parts of the hilly district. Earlier, four people were died in recent flood. All seven administrative centres of the districts Hayuliang, Hawai, Manchal, Goiliang, Walong, Kibithoo and Chaglogam were completely cut off. Our correspondent reports that at least 30 to 35 major breaches all along the Tezu-Hayuliang road, the lifeline of the Anjaw district, have made it completely non-trafficable, leaving thousands of denizens stranded. District MLA said most of the over 21,000 population was hit by the unprecedented natural calamities. Meanwhile, Lohit district administration informed that one person drowned while three others were saved from drowning by GREF and Army personnel when they were coming from Hayuliang to Tezu. Meanwhile, the State Council of Ministers yesterday met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki at his office and reviewed the over-all flood scenario in the state.
