A shooting has been reported at a Washington underground station that serves the US Department of Defence. Police has identified the alleged gunman who shot two Pentagon police officers at the station, called Pentagon Metro. Pentagon police spokesman Chris Layman said the suspect, Patrick Bedell, 36, who was also wounded in the shooting, later succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating whether a second person was involved. Officials said an investigation is under way. It is unclear why the alleged gunman opened fire at the Pentagon police officers.
