Shooting reported at Washington underground station

A shooting has been reported at a Washington underground station that serves the US Department of Defence. Police has identified the alleged gunman who shot two Pentagon police officers at the station, called Pentagon Metro. Pentagon police spokesman Chris Layman said the suspect, Patrick Bedell, 36, who was also wounded in the shooting, later succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating whether a second person was involved. Officials said an investigation is under way. It is unclear why the alleged gunman opened fire at the Pentagon police officers. All Pentagon entrances were closed off for a brief time but have since been reopened with the exception of the Pentagon Metro entrance, the Pentagon said in a statement.Add int chileThe Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh has condoled the loss of life in the earth quake that hit Chile on the 27th February.
