India's continued good run in shooting has pushed the country on fourth spot overtaking Canada on 5th day of Glasgow Commonwealth Games. India now has 7 Gold, 11 Silver and 7 Bronze.Shooting has brought 3 medals in the day so far. In the 50m Pistol event, Jitu rai secured Gold whereas his compatriot Gurpal Singh won silver. Jitu Rai had entered the finals by creating Games Record and he also created the games final record. In finals he shot 194.1 points for the Gold medal. Gurpal Singh on the other hand claimed silver with 187.2 points.Olympian Gagan Narang won silver in Men's 50 metre Rifle Prone event. Gagan earned 203.6 points in finals for silver. The event was won by Australian Warren Potent 204.3 points with Finals game record to his name. Earlier Gagan had finished 3rd overall in qualifications. Women's 50m Rifle Prone event finals will happen later in the evening. Indian Lajja Goswami and Meena Kumari will shoot in that event.In Men's trap event Mansher Singh and Manavjit Sandhu have advanced for the second day of Qualifications.Olympic Silver medallist Vijay Kumar and compatriot Harpreet Singh will feature in the Men's 25 metre Rapid fire Pistol section slated for later tonight.In Athletics, Chandrodaya Narayan Singh qualifies for men's hammer throw finals with best throw of 67.95m. Kamalpreet Singh narrowly misses out in the same event. Jai Deep finishes fourth in men's discus throw final narrowly missing out on a medal for India.Narayana Sharadha and Poovamma M. will be seen in action in the Women's 100 metres and Women's 400 metres semi-finals, while Om Prakash Karhana will try his luck in the Shot Put Finals.In Badminton Mixed team event and Men's Table Tennis event India lost their Bronze medal matches. In squash Sourav Ghoshal was defeated by Englishmen Peter Barker in bronze match.In Weightlifting, Vikas Thakur and Chandrakant Mali will contest in the Men's 85 kg division.Boxers from today onward will try to seal semi final berths. Olympian Vijender Singh in 75 kg, Shiva Thapa in 56 kg, Devendro Laishram in 49 kg and Manpreet Jangra in 69 kg weight class will play their quarterfinal bouts today.The Indian Women's Hockey team will take on Trinidad and Tobago in their third preliminary round match today. All India Radio will broadcast live commentary on the match from 11.25 PM onwards. It can be heard on the FM Gold Network, Rajdhani and the National Channel.
