Shooters Vijay Kumar and Gurprit Singh won the 12th gold for India today in Men's 25 metres rapid fire pistol event, they also set a new Commonwealth Games record. Vijay and Gurprit scored 1162 points bettering the earlier record of 1134 points set by Vijay Kumar and Pemba Tamang in 2006. The Indian trio of Bheigyabati Chanu, Jhano Hansdah and Gagandeep also won a bronze in the women's compound archery event beating Malaysia 223-219 in the third place play-off tie today. Indians were 195 with three rounds while Malaysia finished at 219. When the last arrow was to be shot by Hansdah, India needed five points and Hansda shot eight to give India today's first medal.
