The first gold for India on the fourth day of the commonwealth games today was won by Vijay Kumar and Gurprit Singh in Men's 25 metres rapid fire pistol shooting setting a new Commonwealth Games record. They scored 1162 points bettering the earlier record of 1134 points set by Vijay Kumar and Pemba Tamang in 2006. The day’s first medal came in Archery as the hosts bagged one more bronze in the Womens compound Team event. The Indian team comprising B. Chanu, Jhano Hansdah and Gagandeep Kaur beat Malaysia 223 -219. Indian gold hunt continues with the hosts in second position on the medals tally with 12 gold, 8 Silver and 6 bronze. 35 Golds are up for grabs today.
