Shivratri being celebrated with religious fervor

Shivratri is being celebrated in various parts of the country today with religious fervor and enthusiasm. In Uttar Pradesh, places of worships have been decorated nicely at several places including Varanasi , Allahabad , Barabanki, Ayodhya and Mathura. Large numbers of pilgrims have reached at Allahabad to take holy dip at Sangam the confluence of river Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati on the last bathing festival of more than one month long Magh Mela. AIR Lucknow correspondent Sunil Shukla reports that Magh Mela, largest Hindu congregation of the world will be officially concluded with bathing on Mahashivratri. The administration and police have made adequate arrangements for peaceful celebration of bathing on the auspicious occasion. Massive security arrangements have been made across the state and 12 companies of Rapid Action Force and 39 companies of PAC are deployed. Additional forces have been provided to the sensitive districts including Varanasi , Lucknow , Faizabad, Gorakhpur , Allahabad , Mathura , Aligarh and Chitrakoot for deployment at all the temples of Lord Shiva and sensitive sites across the town. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in and around at famous Kashi Vishwanath temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in the country, at Varanasi. In Jammu and Kashmir, Maha Shivratri festival is being celebrated with religious fervour and lot of enthusiasm. Maha Shivratri is the most important festival of the Kashmir Pandits. In Madhya Pradesh, religious processions are being taken out across on the occasion. In Odisha, Maha Shivaratri is being celebrated in all the temple of Lord Shiva across Odisha with much fervour and lot of enthusiasm. Thousands of devotees are seen making beeline in major Shiv temples the famous Lord Lingaraj Temple at Bhubaneswar, Dhabaleswar Temple at Athagarh, Gupteswar Temple at Koraput, Akandaleswar Temple at Aradai in Bhadrak, Lord Shiv Temple at Vedyas in Rourkela since early today morning to have holy darsha of Lord Shiva. Special arrangements have been made in all the Lord Shiva temples as a large number of devotees are likely to spend the night in the temple in vigil, witnessing the various forms of worship of Lord Shiva all through the night including 'Mahadeepa darshan'. Special security arrangements have been made in and around the temples to control the huge crowd and also to avoid any untoward incidents. While, in Nepal, the festival of Mahashivaratri is being celebrated all across the country. Sages, devotees from India and within the country are visiting the famous Pashupinath temple in Kathmandu and other temples to perform pujas and pay homage to Lord Shiva from the early hours of the morning. Pashupinath Area Development Trust has made elaborate arrangements for faciliating the large number of Devotees. The Trust is expecting around eight lakh devotees during the festival. Around four thousand security personnel have been deployed to thwart any untoward incident. CCTV cameras have been installed in the core temple area for the first time also. A large number of Volunteers have also been roped in to facilitate and guide the devotees.
