Shivlal Yadav says, Srinivasan would not step down as BCCI President

Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI vice-president Shivlal Yadav said that N. Srinivasan is not stepping down as President. Talking to a Private TV channel, Yadav said this just a day after Supreme Court made stinging observations that Srinivasan should step down to ensure a fair investigation to the IPL spot-fixing scandal. He said, the BCCI will now await a court verdict on the embattled Chennai Super Kings team owner tomorrow. Yadav said, BCCI will wait for the top court's order to decide its future course of action. Yadav, according to the BCCI's rules, could step in as president should Srinivasan quit.The Apex Court yesterday asked Srinivasan to step down to ensure a fair probe of the Indian Premier League fixing and betting scandal.Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, who was a team official of Chennai Super Kings, has been indicted by a Supreme Court-appointed inquiry committee for betting and sharing team information.
