While preparations are in full swing for the grand swearing-in ceremony of BJP’s first government in Maharashtra the rift between BJP and Shiv Sena seems to have further widened.
The Shiv Sena has said its leaders will not attend Chief Minister-designate Devendra Fadnavis's swearing-in Mumbai tomorrow.
Talking to reporters after meeting the Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, Sena MP Vinayak Raut said that the Shiv Sena has constantly been humiliated by the BJP, which has not gone down well with the party MLAs.
Therefore, the Sena leaders will not attend ceremony.
Mr Raut also said that the scheduled meeting of senior Shiv Sena leaders that was to take place this evening has been cancelled.
BJP general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy earlier, in a tweet, had said that it is unlikely that the Shiv Sena will be a part of the government as of now. Rudy. Rudy maintained that BJP was looking forward to a decision in this regard soon.

In the October 15 election, the BJP had emerged as the single largest party with 122 seats in the 288 member assembly. It is almost certain that all the members of BJP’s core committee, including Eknath Khadse, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Vinod Tawde, Pankaja Munde and Ashish Shelar will be sworn-in as ministers. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up around the sprawling ground. The stadium has also been declared a no flying zone.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister-elect Devendra Fadnavis met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders, including L K Advani and Rajnath Singh, in New Delhi today. He invited them for the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in the State tomorrow.
Mr Fadnavis also discussed formation of Cabinet with the top leadership. He also met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and party president Amit Shah
