Shiv Sena to announce it's decision on joining BJP led govt in Maharashtra

With just a day left for the swearing-in ceremony of BJP’s first ever Chief Minister in Maharashtra, former ally Shiv Sena will announce its decision today on whether it will be a part of BJP-led government.

After rounds of back channel discussions in last few days, BJP and Shiv Sena have failed to arrive on mutually acceptable solution on government formation. According to sources, BJP has decided to resume talks with Shiv Sena only after tomorrow’s swearing- in, while Shiv Sena was expecting a breakthrough before the ceremony.

On the backdrop of this standoff, Shiv Sena party chief Uddhav Thackeray held discussions with senior party leaders last night. Shiv Sena has also criticised possible move of BJP taking help from NCP to run a minority government.

In its mouthpiece, Shiv Sena today said that it will be immoral if BJP accepts NCP’s direct or indirect support. Meanwhile, preparations are on in full swing at Wankhede stadium where Devedra Fadnavis will take oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
