BJP has maintained that Shiv Sena should not keep any unrealistic pre-conditions on the government formation in Maharashtra.
BJP leader Vinod Tawde said that his party also wants Shiv Sena to join the government and added that they have already conveyed their views on government formation.
Tawde said this after senior BJP leaders met at the residence of former leader of the opposition Eknath Khadse in Mumbai yesterday. During the meeting, it was decided that the BJP legislature party will meet in Mumbai on Tuesday to elect its leader and name its chief minister designate.
The legislative party of Bharatiya Janata Party will meet tomorrow at 11 am in Mumbai to elect its leader and name State BJP president Devendra Phadnavis as chief minister designate. The meeting will be attended by central observers Union Home minister Rajnath Singh and party general secretary J P Nadda.
The Shiv Sena too has given positive signals in joining the BJP to form a government in state. According to sources Shiv Sena leaders will hold formal meetings from today to work on the modalities of joining the BJP in government formation.
However, the BJP has made its stand clear that it is open for support from the Shiv Sena but without any unrealistic demands.
Meanwhile sources have also informed that the BJP has kept the option of seeking outside support of the the NCP. The new BJP-led government is likely to hold the swearing-in ceremony on October 30 in Mumbai.
