A group of Shiv Sena activists attacked Marathi Daily Maharashtra Times office at Fort Mumbai on Saturday. The Attack took place over a report about Shiv Sena Member of Parliament Anand Adsul’s likely entry in Nationalist Congress Party – NCP. The report was published in Saturday’s edition Maharashtra times belonging to Times of India group.Assistant Editor of Maharashtra Times Sanrang Darshane told media persons that around 50 to 60 activists entered the lobby of the main building around 1 pm carrying black flags and sticks and shouting slogans. They damaged computers electronic equipments, chairs, tables and other furniture at the reception counter. Joint commissioner Rajnish Seth said that around 16 protestors were arrested.The editor of Maharashtra Times Ashok Panvalkar said that it is an attack on freedom of press. He said that paper has no intention of defaming any political leader or a party. Shiv Sena spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Raut said that Shiv Sena has no connection with the attack.
