In Kerala, naval divers have sighted the wreck of Don I, the fishing boat that sunk into the sea after it was hit by a merchant vessel last Thursday. A 10-member Navy Clearance Diving team from the Southern Naval Command at Kochi with special equipment found the wreck lying 45 meters below on the sea bed this evening. The boat was found with its cabin damaged and its fuel still leaking, but its hull was intact. It was entangled in a maze of fishing nets, making it dangerous for the divers to attempt entering the boat in fading light. The diving effort to locate the bodies of the fishermen inside the boat will continue on Sunday. The boat was located on Friday night by INS Sarvekshak, using side scan sonars.
