Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has reached Raipur to review the security situation in Chhattisgarh in the wake of recent Naxal attack on last Saturday. Mr. Shinde will hold a high level meeting this afternoon in which the strategy to deal with the Naxal menace will come up for discussion.
The Home Minister went to the native place of former PCC Chief Nand Kumar Patel in Raigarh to convey his condolences to the bereaved family. Nand Kumar was among 29 people killed in the Naxal attack.
Ahead of his visit to Chhattisgarh Mr. Shinde assured full protection to politicians working in Naxal-affected states irrespective of their party affiliation. Briefing reporters in New Delhi last evening, he said there was no flaw in the government strategy to fight Naxalism.
The Home Minister said government is giving top priority to basic infrastructure and livelihood of tribals in the country.
