Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has expressed regret over his Hindu terror remark saying he did not wish to link any organisation or religious group with terror. He said that his statement at Congress Chintan Shivir in Jaipur has created a misunderstanding that he was linking terrorism to a particular religion and was accusing certain organisations of being involved in organising terror camps. In a statement issued in New Delhi yesterday, the Home Minister said that there is no basis to suggest that terror could be linked with the organisations mentioned in his speech.
With Shinde expressing regret, the opposition party BJP indicated that it would allow parliament to function. Talking to reporters yesterday evening, BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said BJP accepts this statement.
