Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today alleged that the Chhattisgarh government had failed to make proper use of security forces being provided by the Centre to combat Naxalism. Talking to reporters in Raipur, he said that he has ordered an inquiry by NIA which will reveal who are responsible for the incident. Admitting that there were security lapses, he assured the people that the government will look after their grievances and justice will be done with their families. Later, the Home Minister said, the attack was bigger than a terror strike and the Centre and the state government have decided to take joint action to deal with the Maoists.
Shinde said, he felt that a commando force, on the lines of elite Grey Hounds of Andhra Pradesh, needs to be raised in all Naxal affected states.
Earlier, the Home Minister had a high level meeting with state Governor Shekhar Dutt, Chief Minister Raman Singh, senior civil and police officials to take stock of the situation arising out of 25th May Maoist attack.
