India will hold talks with Pakistan on issuance of visas and a host of other issues on sidelines of the Interpol conference to be held in Rome from 5th of this month. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde told this to reporters on the side lines of a function in Hyderabad today.
The Home Minister strongly supported the proposal to bringing political parties under the ambit of the Right to Information Act-RTI. He said the Congress party will support any move in the direction.
On Statehood for Telangana, the Home Minister said the discussions are underway and several Parliament Members are discussing the issue with him.
Addressing the passing out prade iof 64 th batch of IPS probationers in Hydrabad the Home Minister said Technological development has been altering the nature of crime and posing newer challenges to the internal security. Stating that Terrorism and Maoism are shadowing the glory of the country, he asked the police to work with professionalism coupled with accountability and legitimacy.
Mr. Shinde said misuse of cyberspace to offer distorted version of reality, as was seen during the recent violence against people from North-East, posed a new challenge. He said rumours and irresponsible use of social networking media, as seen in Bangalore, Pune and other parts of country recently, were difficult to control.
