JMM leader Shibu Soren, heading a five-party coalition was sworn-in as Jharkhand Chief Minister on Wednesday for the third time by Governor K.Sankaranarayanan. 65 year old Shibu Soren was administered oath of office and secrecy by the Governor at the Mohrabadi ground in Ranchi. BJP-Jharkhand unit president Raghubar Das and AJSU chief Sudesh Mahato were also sworn in as Ministers along with Mr Soren. Later, Mr. Soren announced that both of them will be Deputy Chief Ministers.<br/><br/>The first meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in Ranchi on Wednesday by Mr. Shibu Soren. The meeting decided that the council of ministers will be expanded after the confidence vote in the Assembly on the 7th of next month. The Governor had asked Mr. Soren to prove his majority on the floor of the House by 8th January.<br/><br/>After taking the oath, Mr Soren said his top most priority will be to eradicate poverty and provide irrigation facilities to farmers. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi were prominent BJP leaders present at the swearing-in. Karuna Shukla, BJP national vice president and in-charge of Jharkhand was also present.
