Sheena murder case: CBI custody of Peter Mukerjea extended by 4 days

A special Mumbai court has extended the CBI custody of former media baron Peter Mukerjea by four days. Peter Mukerjea was flown in from Delhi this morning and produced before the court that extended his custody till 30th November.

Seeking seven days extension of custody, Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh informed the court that CBI is examining the financial angle as the possible motive for Sheena's murder. Mr. Singh said Indrani and Peter Mukerjea had formed various companies between 2006 and 2007 and invested Rs 900 crore.

He added CBI has discovered a HSBC account in Singapore in Sheena's name, have sought Interpol's help for details. The CBI demanded further custody to collect more information on documents that suggest that huge money was routed to Sheena from Peter's company.

Mr. Singh added that unlike any other person who would have tried to search for his missing relative; Peter Mukerjea did nothing for two and a half years. On the other hand, the defence claimed that Peter Mukerjea himself is a victim of Indrani's devious methods; adding that she hid facts from him.
