Sharjah Court adjourns hearing of 17 Indians on death row to April 28

The Case of 17 Indians who were awarded death sentence by the Sharia Court of Sharjah for killing a Pakistani national and injuring 3 others has been fixed on 28th April for next hearing. The advocate in the case Ms. Bindu Suresh Chettur told AIR today that court has given the time for out of court settlement. She also informed that a list of five witnesses has been given to the court for cross examination. The convicted, 16 from the Punjab and one from Haryana, were found guilty by the Sharjah Shariah Court of killing a Pakistani national and injuring three of his compatriots during a clash in January 2009.
