Share data to combat cyber crime effectively: MoS to BRICS nations

Union Minister of State for Communication Manoj Sinha has called upon BRICS member countries to share data and best practices in the prevention of Information Communications Technology, ICT misuse by criminals and terrorists. <br/><br/>Speaking during the BRICS Communication Ministers' meet in Bengaluru today, he said, cyber crime can be combated much more effectively by sharing expertise and technologies. He also laid emphasis on exchange of Case studies on ICT policies and exchange of ICT experts among the BRICS members. <br/><br/>He added that transformation to digital economy and e-commerce should devote paramount importance to consumer rights. The minister observed that BRICS meet derives greater importance in these aspects. He assured that the concerns and proposals of ICT industries will be considered by the Government. <br/><br/>The Communication ministers from other BRICS countries urged upon the need to speed up the pace of working groups to arrive at the action plan. They also said that favorable conditions should be created to unleash the great potential of digital economy. The second meet of BRICS Ministers of Communication will conclude today following declaration of Communique and endorsement of ICT Development Agenda and Action plan in the afternoon.
