Union Agriculture Minister and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar today visited the charred Mantralaya building in Mumbai. He also met Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and several NCP members to take stock of the situation. Later, speaking to the media, Pawar rebutted the demand for Chief Minster's resignation saying there is no reason for it. He said, it is time to start the rebuilding process and not to destabilize the government.

Pawar urged the state government to try and resume normal and regular functioning of the state secretariat within two days.
